Problems in relationships can surface with almost anyone—a boyfriend or girlfriend, husband, wife, mother, father, sister, brother, neighbor, boss, friend, or co-worker. Counseling can help you clarify the issues by identifying factors that may be contributing to the problem and recognizing possible solutions. The support and encouragement you receive in counseling will help you feel stronger and better able to confront problems in a relationship and implement changes. It is different from Couples Counseling in that you are coming to counseling without the other person involved and saying, “What can I do?” We focus on your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. You can’t make the other person do anything, so we focus on your “side of the street.” We identify what you can do to feel better and make healthier choices within the relationship.
