Relationships are complex. We expect so much of one another, and yet we often approach problem solving as if the other person is our enemy. In Couples Counseling, I am the “translator.” In seeking to understand both individuals and the dynamic between them, I help the couple express themselves more clearly, ask for what they need, and learn the skills necessary to solve problems. Infidelity is a particularly painful issue that brings many couples to counseling. When both individuals are committed to healing the relationship, it is possible to do so. Couples counseling is hard work. When couples stick with it, they emerge with a stronger sense of their own worth as well as a relationship that is happier and better meets the needs of both individuals.
